Trillium Wind Power Alleges The Government Destroyed Documents

[ 0 ] June 24, 2015 |

we are going to be on the hook for another boondoggleI’m still rather stunned that there hasn’t been more press on this latest Wynne Government tidbit.

According to Trillium’s CEO John Kourtoff, the Ontario Government destroyed documents relevant to their lawsuit. He alleges that they have found proof that there was willful destruction of evidence more than one year after Trillium Power began its suit against the government of Ontario.

Trillium is suing Ontario for over 500 million dollars and believes that the Ontario government “intentionally destroyed evidence relevant to the central issue in this litigation and purged emails, records and documents from its files.”

What’s interesting is that a court has found there is significant evidence to their assertions which then allows Trillium to include this destruction of evidence in their statement of claim against the government.

An offshore wind-farm developer has won permission to allege in court that the Ontario government destroyed documents relevant to a lawsuit against the province.

As of last Wednesday night, there doesn’t seem to be much of a mention of it over at the Comrade Red Star.  Am I surprised?  Not really.

It is quite something however that we appear to be on the cusp (and the losing end) of yet another multi-million dollar fiasco because of the loons at Queen’s Park.
