Hey Look! A Squirrel!

[ 0 ] March 20, 2015 |

hey look a squirrelSo many screw ups.  So many more to accomplish.  So many things Wynne wants us to ignore.  This is our Ontario.

There really isn’t much more for Wynne to do but try to turn the channel and make people look in a different direction.

I don’t know about you, but as an Ontarian, as a Canadian, I’m embarrassed.  How did this once great economic engine of Canada become such a large belly flop?

This week in Ottawa, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario announced that they will be eliminating 50 nurse positions. A hospital doesn’t need nurses?  Really?  Come on. Underfunding of front line workers and it’s kids and patients who suffer.  I some how doubt that any of the executives are going to be losing their jobs.

There was also discourse this week from some of the gang that helped get this bunch elected. The Ontario Secondary School Teachers‘ Federation is not happy and are threatening a bunch of selective strike areas this April.  It’s hard to feel sorry for the teachers, but you can certainly feel for the students who keep being held hostage by the union’s greed and sense of entitlement.

Hydro One’s pillaging of its rate payers, along with clearly stretching the truth to Ombudsman Andre Marin about whether they disconnect people who are behind on their payments, is only one in a long list of mismanaged misadventures that plague the whole Ontario Energy Grid. Smart Meters that don’t work, billing that is flat out outrageously wrong, it just goes on and on.

I suspect that Ms Wynne figured that her Sex Ed Curriculum would create lots of favorably editorials.  I don’t think she quite anticipated the complete Pandora’s Box she unleashed.  Whoops.  Heated meetings and protests by what she thought were solidly liberal strong holds.

Then there’s the fact that we’re broke.  No, we’re beyond broke.  We’re so far in the toilet financially that even if we sell off Ontarian assets, (our assets by the way), the money that will be raised will only be a drop in the bucket to trying to reduce our financial woes.

We will have to sell our assets at fire sale prices, with clearly unfavorable terms for we, the tax payers to bear.

But it’s ok folks.  Wynne will continue to point to invisible squirrels and hope everyone doesn’t look too closely at the heap of dung that the Liberals have created, in our once great province.
